It’s now 12:15 pm local time and he makes his first appearance on AC360, along with Christiane Amanpour (in London). Oddly, Anderson still intros him as being with Time, as do the graphics. I guess the 360 offices aren’t getting all their memos... *g*
Fifteen minutes later, his final appearance of the day. Anderson (who has now received the memo, even if Graphics has not) interviews him and Peter Bergen (in Zurich).
Length: 4:49 / 7:54
An hour later, he appears on Paula Zahn Now.
It’s morning in Australia -- 9:30 Friday morning. Mick appears on The Situation Room.
As the news broke about Zarqawi’s death, CNN‘s Miles O’Brien got in touch with Mick in Brisbane. The first conversation was by phone. It was just after 7:30 PM in Brisbane.
An hour later, Mick was in the studio. At the end of the interview, Miles breaks away for a live report, but when they come back, Mick cannot hear him.
Two hours after that, Miles again speaks with Mick.
Length: 10:24 / 4:50 / 7:22
Mick’s first interview as a CNN correspondent. He’s in Brisbane, speaking to Larry about the Haditha killings that are being investigated because of a Time magazine report.
Larry welcomes Mick to the CNN team, and Mick’s grin says it all. Insha’allah, indeed.
